Who IS Frank Yang?

These days, it seems like there are “influencers” for every niche market, including bodybuilding. There have always been weight lifting “celebrities”; Arnold Schwarzenegger and Andre the Giant are just two names that come to mind (and date all the way back to the 1970s!). Thanks to social media, there are more fitness influencers in the 21st century than ever before, and Frank Yang is, without a doubt, one of the most popular names in this category.

The Taiwanese fitness celebrity was born on November 17, 1985 and is best known for his self-titled YouTube channel, on which he posts workout videos, inspirational – and sometimes whacky – vlogs, and even some of his incredible performances on the violin. Yang has become one of the richest Taiwanese YouTube stars, and he has one of the most popular YouTube channels on the video sharing social media platform.

In addition to making some remarkable changes to his physique in super-short period of time and his violin talents, at the age of 34, Yang has an impressive list of achievements under his belt, and there’s no doubt that he will continue to add even more to his repertoire.

A Look at the Quirky and Inspiring Frank Yang

A bodybuilder and an artist, Frank Yang was born in the island nation of Taiwan on November 17, 1985. The dedicated, inspiring, and oft times quirky 34-year-old has used his impressive physique (which we have to admit, really is quite impressive) to make a name for himself.

However, his body isn’t his only claim to fame; Yang also has a tremendous amount of creativity, which he uses to create abstract art, mainly in the form of photographs and videos, as well as (which we previously mentioned), his mastery of the violin, which is really quite amazing and awe-inspiring.

He is also quite intellectual and has a unique way of looking at the world. Yang shares his views and attempts to open the minds of others via his unique ability to philosophize about spirituality and psychology – two things that humanity could sure use a lot more of, especially in the upside-down world that we’ve all been living in since March of 2020.

Frank is an extremely passionate and highly driven individual. To share his passion and to inspire others to achieve their dreams, Yang took to YouTube, where he created a channel that he uses as the primary vehicle for reaching out to the world.

While Frank has certainly shared some inspirational content on his YouTube channel, some of his content is also viewed as indecent and shocking. He is very proud of his sexuality and does not fear sharing his physical form with the world; in fact, sexuality and public indecency are two common themes that can be seen throughout much of his work. Yang has made it very apparent that he is not afraid to touch on topics that many would shy away from, so long as he is able to freely express the unpredictable creative energies that lie within his soul.

Frank Yang also has a dedicated official website (frankyang.wtf), which he also uses to display the things that inspire and drive him. You can find a collection of workout videos on this site, as well as videos that spotlight music and films he has created, and his artwork, too, which includes photographs, sculptures, drawings, paintings, and even performance art.

There’s even a “Nirvana” section of the Frank Yang website, where you can learn about the influencers major “insights and breakthroughs”, read through question and answer sessions, and find out about the practice methods and techniques that he uses in order to access the highest state of consciousness.

Visitors to Yang’s site can sign up for the services and coaching that he offers, which aim to help others develop their physical and mental aesthetics by enhancing their “fitness and spiritual algorithms” via 1-on-1 coaching, training, and consultation sessions.

The Fitness Prowess of Frank Yang

Frank Yang is committed to developing his best physical self. He utilizes a variety of techniques, including nutrition and exercises – which largely focuses on weightlifting and body building – to push his body to the limits. On his YouTube channel, there’s a video that showcases the astounding physical transformation that he underwent in just three short weeks, in which he went from 143 pounds to 175 pounds; a truly impressive feat. Though Yang isn’t necessarily the leanest he’s been seen at the end of the three-week bulking session, there is no denying that he is impressively cut.

According to Yang, he was able to bulk that quickly because he trained for “strength and explosiveness for years”, which, he claims, means that his “CNS is more efficient than the average person. Frank states that because of this, he is able to “activate and recruit MORE muscle fibers than someone who doesn’t train neural efficiency”, which is why he gets bigger in such a short period of time, as he utilizes a tremendous amount of muscles each and every time he lifts.

He also said that he ate between 4000 and 6000 calories per day during this 3-week bulking period. Perhaps even more impressive than the weight and muscle he gained over that span of time is the fact that Frank gained virtually no fat during that process.

What’s Frank’s Secret?

So, how is it possible that Frank Yang was able to put on such an impressive amount of weight in such a short period of time without packing on a ton of fat when he was eating between 4000 and 6000 calories per day over the span of three weeks? The truth is, we don’t really know; however, it has been theorized that he uses anabolic steroids.

Though the bodybuilder hasn’t come right out and admitted it, given the lewdness of his videos, which feature sex, nudity, insolence, vomiting, music and art, and even vomiting and self-humiliation, it isn’t too far-fetched to assume Yang relies on steroid injections to achieve his fitness goals.

While essentially, it is possible to achieve Yang’s physique naturally, it isn’t very likely; especially not in such a short amount of time as 3 weeks. It’s also important to note that a lot of the photos and videos that Frank posts do seem to be digitally edited.

Summary (or an attempt at least)

Ultimately with this article we’re simply trying to lay a beige base-layer of background info in a pop-culture voice to hep dip your toes slowly into the Frank Yang’s world. This is by no means an exhaustive guide, that would require a book, nor does it really do justice to just how well-known Frank is in the bodybuilding community, having collaborated at some point over the last 10 years with just about everyone.

While Frank may not be everyone’s cup of tea, he’s THE cup of tea to a select few who are sick of the prom queen/king bodybuilding personalities that abound online, on YouTube and on Instagram.

One thing for sure is Frank’s videos can be addicting, one of those infamous YouTube rabbit holes that most people stumble upon (often via a collaboration with another channel) and end up spending hours watching, trying to decipher the undecipherable enigma that is Mr. Yang.
